Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology

Career and Technical Certificate - 600 Clock Hours

The Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology program offers training toward industry-recognized credentials and employment as production technicians. Students learn how to operate the latest advanced manufacturing equipment and technology through hands-on, practical experience. Internship opportunities are available for eligible students.

Industry Certification

Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician industry credential. Students who earn this credential are better prepared to document their skills and knowledge with a nationally portable, industry-recognized credential. MSSC is an industry-led training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s front-line production workers. This certification is based upon industry-defined and federally-endorsed standards and offers both entry-level and incumbent workers the opportunity to demonstrate that they have acquired the skills that are needed in the technology-intensive careers of the 21st century.

Building Block to A.S. Degree

Students who choose to further their education beyond the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technology certificate program are able to use this credential in order to articulate 15 credit hours directly into the 60 credit-hour A.S. in Engineering Technology degree.

High School Dual Enrollment Pathway

NFC also offers a manufacturing certification dual enrollment pathway for high school juniors and seniors. This pathway leads from local high schools to college to employment as technicians or further education.
