NFC Staff Positions

Director of College Center in Perry (Full-Time) (Grant Funded)

SUMMARY

The Director of the College Center in Perry is responsible for all operational aspects and stewardship of the Perry Center. Serves as the administrative officer for the Perry Center.  Collaborates with admissions and financial aid departments in order to enroll students in college classes.  Reports to the Dean of Enrollment Services.

  1.    Provides strategic leadership, oversight and direction for all aspects of the Center, including staffing, budgeting, service delivery and academic and student service programming.
  2. Crafts innovative recruitment and student support plans, in order to attract traditional and non-traditional students to the Center for credit and non-credit programs and to advance student success.
  3. Initiates collaborations and partnerships with internal and external residents to determine gaps in program offerings and services and to create new programs and improvements in service offerings.
  4. Collaborates with Campus Deans and faculty to schedule and manage course delivery and maintain the physical infrastructure of the Center.
  5. Establishes and maintains linkages with local, state and national organizations and institutions, such as local K-12 schools, CBOs, Chambers, economic development, and entrepreneurship organizations.
  6. Maintains and updates informational, academic and public relations materials for the center.

  1. Programs time schedules and trouble shoots control problems on HVAC energy management system Boiler and lighting systems.
  2. Performs routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, and other equipment.
  3. Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and control problems in HVAC system, Boilers, refrigeration, and other equipment as needed.
  4. Removes and replaces defective parts on HVAC, refrigeration, Electrical equipment and Boilers. 
  5. Maintains spare parts inventory of commonly used items.
  6. Inspects chiller and boiler controls to insure safety items are in good working order.
  7. Keeps records of work completed on equipment.
  8. Installs and maintains communication lines for A/C and boiler controls.
  9. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to trouble shoot problems.
  10. May be assigned other duties in maintenance department as needed.
  11. Performs annual inspections on all chillers. Performs monthly and quarterly inspections on Boilers.
  12. Remotely monitors HVAC, Boiler and Lighting systems after normal operating hours.

Job Description

SUMMARY

The Director of Information Technology provides direct technology vision and leadership for improving business processes for a more efficient and valuable use of information and technology. The Director of Information Technology is also responsible for the viability of the network as it relates to network hardware, network software, communications, system usage, and educational activities. Responsibility also includes network software usage, security, access controls, backups, disaster recovery, email functionality, and maintaining and securing Banner Information System and other college information systems.

Manages and oversees the delivery of IT services.

Develops structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, communication systems, servers, storage area networks, security or any other computer-related hardware.

Requires knowledge of policies and procedures and possesses the ability to determine a course of action based on these guidelines.

Manages the operational and end-user technology and support needs of the college, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Supports faculty in their use of technology as an integral part of their teaching and creative activities.  Works closely with Coordinator of Instructional Technology and the Chief Academic Officer to design and implement new technology.

Makes technology recommendations to Senior Management, including development of technology budgets for operations and grants.

Assists in design, development, and implementation of training necessary to staff, faculty, and students to perform their assigned duties and tasks using information technology.

Designs, develops, and supports both technical and systems-centric detailed documentation.

Maintains and secures Ellucian Banner Information System and other college information systems, including access controls. 

Creates and maintains policies of all sensitive data maintained by the College.  Provides results of annual reviews to Senior Management in an annual report.   

Serves on College committees at the discretion of the President.

Creates and maintains a Disaster Recovery Plan and provides testing results to Senior Management in an annual report.  This report will include network recovery, including email, VmWare, Ellucian Banner (Proper and SSB), and other critical servers.

Coordinator of Grants and Projects

Department: Reports to the NFC President

This is a full-time position. 

SUMMARY

This position will develop, oversee, manage and administer multiple projects and grants related to North Florida College. This position will also research grants and projects to prepare proposals to external agencies for funding ongoing or new programs and special projects.

Partial Duties include:

Coordinates all aspects of a project from inception through completion. Involves relevant institutional leadership during the initial planning phase to ensure its relevance to the mission of the organization.

Develops detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation. Utilizing internal resources when available, and third-party vendors when necessary.

Manages the team tasked with completing the project, ensuring timely delivery within the budget and scope of the original plan. Create comprehensive project documentation, measure project performance and maintain communication with leadership during the progression. Post project documents both positive and negative observations for use in future proposals.

Create, evaluate, negotiate and monitor a variety of contracts related to the needs of the organization.

Develops and maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers as a singular contact, and finds solutions to any issues that arise either with the vendor or within the College relating to the contract.

Keeps all records, correspondence and documentation in relation to all grants and projects both established and in progress. Communicates information to the stakeholders and Management Team.

Confers with faculty/staff to determine goals and objectives, scope, and funding needs for programs and gathers and maintains current files on institutional programs and projects.

Identifies and researches corporate, foundation, and government sources of grant funding to determine the feasibility of developing proposals to support new and existing programs. Refers funding opportunities that pertain to program needs to appropriate faculty/staff for their review. Confers with personnel involved in proposed program to become familiar with program goals and objectives and how funds are to be used and to explain procedures necessary to obtain funding.

Researches funding source proposal requirements and submittal deadlines and maintains report deadline calendar. Informs faculty/staff of institutional procedures and provides necessary forms and guidelines. Works with fiscal officer in reviewing proposal budget and its narrative justification. Delegates, where appropriate, the preparation of reports and supporting documents from administrators.

Completes preparation of grant proposals for submittal to external agencies in order to obtain funds for ongoing or new programs and special projects. Possible grant proposals must be reviewed by the Management Team prior to pursuing.

SUMMARY

The Learning Specialist will provide academic assistance for all students regardless of their academic proficiency. As a learning specialist for English/Language Arts, the individual will support the reading and writing needs of students across content areas. Full-time Nursing Instructor BSN Program (11-Month)

North Florida College is seeking an enthusiastic nurse educator for a full-time faculty position (11-month) in its online ADN-RN to BSN program.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Doctoral Degree Required
  • Graduate Degree in Nursing Required
  • Must have a current Florida unrestricted Registered Nursing license (and eligible for compact license for practice in Georgia).
  • Must have at least two (2) years paid working experience as a RN

SUMMARY

Commercial Truck Driving Instructor - Part Time

This is a part-time position without benefits. Instructors will work no more than 25 hours per week. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II background check.

This program is designed to prepare new drivers for their commercial driver’s license ("CDL") as well continuing education refreshers for existing drivers.  A portion of the training focuses on the specific skills needed within the timber industry. 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Possess an active Florida Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license) and a current Department of Transportation physical. 
  • Over the road experience, clean driving record. Preferred experience in the logging industry.  

 Duties include:    

  • Teach classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks and trip planning. 
  • Teach hands on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind the wheel. 
  • Maintain student files. 
  • Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment. 
  • Monitor inventory of training supplies. 
  • Evaluate and grade students throughout the program. 
  • Maintain relationships with employers in the trucking industry and assist with the recruitment/placement of students.

EMS Adjunct Instructor - Part Time

The primary responsibility of the EMS adjunct instructor is to assist the student in the classroom, laboratory, and during clinical experiences as needed. This position is on a part-time as needed basis.

Qualifications:

Required: Adjunct instructors must have completed the Florida Level A coursework as identified in the National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, August, 2002 ed. Must have a current Florida paramedic license with three-years of field provider experience with an ALS service.

Adjunct instructors must possess a minimum of an associate degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the US Dept. of Education.

Adjunct Instructor - Computer Applications

Computer Applications Adjunct: Must have a master’s degree in Information Technology/technology-related field. Also acceptable is a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the information technology discipline a master’s degree with evidence of computer application/information technology certifications.


English - Adjunct Instructor

English Adjunct: English Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the English discipline.


Clinical Adjunct Instructors Needed - Nursing
  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Competitive Hourly Rate

Duties Include:

  • Attend clinical rotations with students
  • Maintain and evaluate clinical performance
  • Keep student informed of clinical performance
  • Supervise care provided by nursing students in contracted long-term care, acute care,  and community facilities
  • Assure clinical course objective are met
  • Prepare clinical assignments
  • Prepare clinical lab and simulation assignments

North Florida College is looking for quality Adjunct Instructors to teach day and/or night Regular and Dual Enrollment College Classes. The following disciplines are needed:

Requirements: 

A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.


  • Chemistry Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the chemistry discipline.

  • Biology Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the biology discipline. Evening hours preferred.

  • English Adjunct: English Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the English discipline.

  • Foreign Language: Spanish Adjunct Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the Spanish Language discipline.
  • Math Adjunct Instructor: A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in Math. (Fall Semester)

  • EMS Adjunct Instructor: Must be a paramedic with at least 4 year’s experience and have successfully completed an associate's degree or higher. Must be willing to attend a 40 hour instructional methodology course.

  • Interpreter: For Deaf students - Must be certified. Degrees not required.

Part-Time Adjuncts for the following courses:

  • Macroeconomics/Microeconomics
  • Marketing
  • Personal Finance
  • Legal Environment of Business (law degree preferred, not required)
