Qualifications:

Full-Time Position:

The primary responsibility of the Associate Dean of Economic Development and Workforce Programs will be to identify, research, and facilitate development of new career education programs and Workforce Training opportunities based on the current and anticipated workforce needs of the NFC district and business community.

Partial Duties:

  1. Supervision of any CWE programs and direct supervision of CWE programs for which existing directors do not have oversight.
  2. Identify and research potential new CWE programs and certification opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health to identify and research potential new CWE programs and certification opportunities related to Allied Health.
  4. Conduct regular review of curriculum frameworks to determine any changes to be communicated to appropriate director or lead instructor and CAO.
  5. Act as liaison between NFC and regional Workforce Development Board.
  6. Act as NFC liaison to district and business community for purpose to assess current and anticipated training needs.
  7. Conduct program assessment and evaluation as directed by the Dean of Academic Affairs and according to institutional assessment procedures.
  8. Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports and forward these to the Dean of Academic Affairs
  9. Review and submit proposed lab fees for new or modified programs.
  10. Review and submit proposed annual CWE budgets to the Dean of Academic Affairs. Monitor CWE expenditures.
  11. Collaborate with NFC grant writer for potential grant opportunities to provide certification and workforce training for our district.
  12. Support CAO in efforts to ensure high quality delivery of selected Career Technical and Workforce training programs.
  13. Assist Directors in maintaining and identifying program equipment needs.
  14. Facilitate colleges’ involvement in district and regional economic development.
  15. Act as NFC liaison to coordinate and assist district schools’ career academy and dual enrollment efforts.
  16. Assist the President as a liaison with district technical centers.

Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness

Job Description

SUMMARY

Develops and directs a comprehensive and innovative fitness and wellness program to serve the needs of the NFC students, staff, and community.  Activities include monitoring and regulating traffic into the fitness center, monitoring facility and weight training equipment for maintenance and safety concerns, supervising student staff, and supervising and organizing group fitness classes. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university with a degree in fitness, exercise science or related field preferred. At least one national certification in personal training or group exercise preferred and current American Red Cross, CPR and Basic First Aid certification.

At least one year of supervisory experience working in a fitness center, athletics, or coaching.

Ability to write/compile exercise training manuals and conduct training workshops for student staff qualified to do so with current certification or licensure. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills.  Computer literate with experience in Microsoft applications and database management preferred.

  Partial Duties include:

  1. Assist the Director in the daily operation of the fitness and wellness center and all activities therein.
  2. Work with the Coordinator of Student Services/Community Education in creating, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating fitness and wellness programs for the NFC community.
  3. Staff the fitness center to support a year-round operation to include selecting, training, scheduling, and evaluation of student staff, fitness instructors, and group exercise leaders.
  4. Develop and implement fitness program policies and procedures manual.
  5. Implement a comprehensive equipment maintenance program and guidelines for safe and proper use of exercise equipment and fitness center facilities.
  6. Assist in the supervision and monitoring of the fitness and wellness budgets.

Senior Staff Assistant-Academic Affairs - PART-TIME

SUMMARY

Assist the Dean by screening calls and visitors, setting up appointments, monitoring office budgets, prioritizing incoming mail and completing projects that meet the objectives of Academic Affairs.   Other duties as assigned.

  1. Maintain calendar for the Dean.  Make appointments and schedule meetings as needed.
  2. Open and sort mail.
  3. Maintain records and files for Common Course Numbering system.  Send transmittal forms for adding, terminating and/or changing courses.  Work closely with Registrar and Department Chairs to make sure the correct number is listed in the schedule and catalog.
  4. Maintain syllabi files for all courses.
  5. Collect course information from Department Chairs each term and prepare schedule of courses.
  6. Update catalog each year and maintain corrections/changes in computer. 
  7. Collect course requests, course changes/deletions, etc., and process through necessary offices.
  8. Check all requisitions, contracts, OPS forms, etc, for accuracy and proper accounting before giving to the Dean.
  9. Complete requisitions.
  10. Compose and type letters as needed.

Job Description

SUMMARY

Assists the Coordinator of Systems Support in planning, design, installation, implementation, upkeep, operation and maintenance of all facets of computer networking including hardware, software and infrastructure.

Partial Duties include:

  1. Installs and maintains networking hardware/software for connectivity to the main NFC network (Apples, PC’s, printers, APs. etc...)
  2. Maintain other technologies hardware/software for instructional and administrative use (Smartboard, projectors, Electron, etc...)
  3. Maintains network security.  Adds, removes, and changes authorities for network users.
  4. Assists in coordinating equipment, software upgrades, and acquisitions.
  5. Creates detail technical documentation as required.
  6. Conducts and maintains a complete inventory of all computers, peripherals and software.
  7. Trains users in the use of software and hardware.
  8. Installs, maintains and troubleshoots IP based video conferencing equipment.
  9. Assists instructional technology personnel in supporting and maintaining classroom technology to include audiovisual, document projection, and computer integration.
  10. Provide hardware and software support at remote campus locations.
  11. Install and configure wireless access points for students and intra-office connectivity.

Learning Specialist for English (Part Time)

This is a part time position. Full Job Description

SUMMARY

The Learning Specialist will provide academic assistance for all students regardless of their academic proficiency. As a learning specialist for English/Language Arts, the individual will support the reading and writing needs of students across content areas. He or she must relate to and work with students individually and/or in small groups, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. The learning specialist will exercise strong organizational skills, exhibit an eagerness to learn and be of service, and promote positive student, faculty, and staff relations. He or she must have a positive attitude and be a team player.

Partial Duties include:

  • Provide professional tutoring to students (content area tutoring, TABE/PERT reviews, study skills, etc.) through the Academic Success Center (ASC)
  • Illustrate knowledge of study skills and strategies
  • Assist Tutor Lab Manager by supervising peer tutors in the absences of the manager

Assist ASC Coordinator in the following:

  • Academic Coaching
  • Administration of diagnostic assessments
  • Development and implementation/facilitation of workshops and/or study sessions
  • Assist in the development of resources specific to subject specialty
  • Provide Supplemental Instruction when needed
  • Perform various administrative tasks associated with marketing and promotion of ASC services
  • Provide documentation of contact with students and maintain case notes

Medical Coding and Billing Instructor – Full Time

NFC is seeing enthusiastic candidates for a Medical Coding and Billing Instructor (11 month). This position is a full-time position with benefits.  If selected for an interview, the candidate will be required to give a sample presentation utilizing technology.

Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in the health information management discipline and must hold current coding and billing certification/credential.

NFC is seeking an enthusiastic nurse educator. Must have a current Florida unrestricted Registered Nursing license (and eligible for compact license for practice in Georgia).

  • Experience in Medical Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Must have at least two (2) years paid working experience as an RN.

Commercial Truck Driving Instructor - Part Time

This is a part-time position without benefits. Instructors will work no more than 25 hours per week. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II background check. 

SUMMARY  

Through strong, local support from the truck driving and timber industry, North Florida College offers a certified program in the field of commercial truck driving. This program is designed to prepare new drivers for their commercial driver’s license ("CDL") as well continuing education refreshers for existing drivers.  A portion of the training focuses on the specific skills needed within the timber industry. 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Possess an active Florida Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license) and a current Department of Transportation physical. 
  • Over the road experience, clean driving record. Preferred experience in the logging industry.  

 Duties include:    

  • Teach classroom portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including permits, logbooks and trip planning. 
  • Teach hands on portion of the Truck Driver Training Program, including backing, shifting, and behind the wheel. 
  • Maintain student files. 
  • Maintain Truck Driver Training Program equipment. 
  • Monitor inventory of training supplies. 
  • Evaluate and grade students throughout the program. 
  • Maintain relationships with employers in the trucking industry and assist with the recruitment/placement of students.

EMS Adjunct Instructor - Part Time

The primary responsibility of the EMS adjunct instructor is to assist the student in the classroom, laboratory, and during clinical experiences as needed. This position is on a part-time as needed basis.

Qualifications:

Required: Adjunct instructors must have completed the Florida Level A coursework as identified in the National Guidelines for Educating EMS Instructors, August, 2002 ed. Must have a current Florida paramedic license with three-years of field provider experience with an ALS service.

Adjunct instructors must possess a minimum of an associate degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the US Dept. of Education.

North Florida College is looking for quality Adjunct Instructors to teach day and/or night Regular and Dual Enrollment College Classes. The following disciplines are needed:

Requirements: 

A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.


  • Chemistry Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the chemistry discipline.

  • Biology Instructor: A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the biology discipline. Evening hours preferred.

  • English Adjunct: English Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the English discipline.

  • Foreign Language: Spanish Adjunct Instructor. A Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or a Master’s degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in the Spanish Language discipline.
  • Math Adjunct Instructor: A Master's degree (or higher) in the discipline being taught or a Master's degree in any subject with 18 graduate hours in Math. (Fall Semester)

  • EMS Adjunct Instructor: Must be a paramedic with at least 4 year’s experience and have successfully completed an associate's degree or higher. Must be willing to attend a 40 hour instructional methodology course.

  • Interpreter: For Deaf students - Must be certified. Degrees not required.
