Learning Resource Center |
The Learning Resource Center is an area equipped with computers and educational software for academic reinforcement and enrichment. The center's mission is to support and supplement learning activities through the use of peer tutoring.
Due to a renovation project, the Student Success Center is temporally located in a portable classroom with handicapped access next to the NFCC library. The center has a large open area designated for tutoring serivces and also houses the Student Support Services' Retention and Transfer Advisor's offices. Space in the portable classroom during peak time is going to be limited and students should scehdule their lab usage accordingly. |
Peer Tutoring Program |
At NFCC peer tutoring is considered by both students and faculty to be one of the most important ingredients of the Student Success Center. The center's goal is to assist Student Support Services (SSS) participants, and students in preparatory or college-level courses reach their optimum academic potential by helping them become more independent, self-confident, efficient learners so that they will be better equipped to meet the academic standards of college courses.
