Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced four appointments to the North Florida Community College District Board of Trustees.
Ann “Sharon” Benoit, 66, of Greenville, is retired and was previously International Director for the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. Benoit serves on the board for the Economic Development Advisory Committee. She succeeds John Maultsby and is appointed for a term beginning July 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2015.
Dawn Gunter, 30, of Perry, is an operations and management consultant with the Florida Department of Health. She received her bachelor’s degree and master's degree in business administration from Florida State University. Perry is currently a member of the Florida Public Health Association. She succeeds Lester Padgett and is appointed for a term beginning July 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2015.
William “Billy” Washington, 37, of Pinetta, is the president of Briggs, Washington & Thompson Land Surveying, Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. Washington has served on the Madison County Development Council and the Madison County Planning and Zoning Board. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning July 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2014.
Lloyd “Gary” Wright, 71, of Monticello, is retired and was previously president and chief executive officer of Farmers and Merchants Bank. He attended the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the Institute for Financial Management at Harvard University. Wright has served as chairman of the board of the Florida Banker’s Association and as the Florida Representative for the American Bankers Association. He succeeds Albert Thomas and is appointed for a term beginning July 1, 2013, and ending May 31, 2015.
The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
