Field Trips and School Visits

Field Trips and School Presentationskids 1

Sustainable farming is interesting to gardeners of all ages. Growing food as a teaching tool is becoming increasingly popular, and provides endless supplementary teaching material for the subjects of science, art, nutrition, history, multicultural studies, and ecology.

Green Industries Institute is available as a community resource for field trips to our  Green Industries Teaching Farm on site. The Teaching Farm is a small, diversified sustainable farm with endless teaching capacity. We grow food all year round, and students will have opportunity to learn about various topics, including compost, pollinators, local food systems, and plant biology. Our site also has extensive classroom space, outfitted with multimedia technology which can be used to presentations and workshops.

Green Industries can also come you to with classroom presentations. Our instructors can present hands-on demonstrations on topics chosen by the teacher to fit current classroom subjects.
