Green Industries

The Green Industries Institute (GII) is located on Hwy 90 just three (3) miles west of the Monticello Courthouse in beautiful rural Jefferson County Florida. GII is a satellite branch of North Florida Community College and offers students of all ages a wide variety of classes on multiple learning tracks and related to Green and green living.

The sixty-four (64) acre GII site has 40 year old pecan groves, crape myrtle stands, an ornamental arboretum, 3000 square feet of green houses, and 25 acres of mixed hardwood hammock forest land. The three large classrooms feature state-of-the-art smart board technology with web conferencing and the capability for audio and visual feeds at send and receive locations.

Our mission is to be a vibrant student centered institute, providing quality teaching, learning and sustainable community stewardship. 


Fall Term 2010 Classes at GII in Monticello

Fall Term 2010 begins Aug. 23  |  ENROLL NOW

NEW - A new program is in the development stages for an associate degree in Agribusiness with a focus on Water Use and Conservation. The program will include a General Education Core (approximately 18 hours) a Business/Professional Core (approximately 20 hours) and Agribusiness Specialty courses (approximately 22 hours).This will be a dynamic program teaching students sustainable agriculture management and practices.
