Grad Check List

Graduation Check List for Students, Family and Friends

GRADUATE CHECKLIST

  •  __Complete the graduation Application and turn it in to Mrs. Betty Starling, Graduation Specialist.

  • __Order your cap and gown from Mrs. Starling and pay for it in the Business Office.

  • __Watch your mail for letters from NFCC that may contain important graduation information.  Read and respond as appropriate.

  • __Check your NFCC accounts to see if you have any holds that might affect the release of your diploma and transcripts.  You may also check with Mrs. Starling.

  •  __If you have small children, please plan ahead for babysitting or someone to supervise your children during the ceremony.

  •  __Arrive on time (NO LATER THAN 6:15 P.M.) for check-in and last minute instructions.

  • __Say your good-byes to family and friends and leave your valuable belongings with them before you check in at 6:15 p.m.

  • __The check-in area is in the rear area of the auditorium.  You should not enter the front of the auditorium and you should remain in the check-in area.

  • __Celebrate!  You deserve it!

FAMILY AND FRIENDS CHECKLIST

  • __Plan to arrive between 6:15 and 6:40.  If you have never been to the location before, make a test drive before graduation day.

  • __Eat a snack before you come.

  • __Be prepared for weather and traffic.  Have items like umbrellas and sweaters available if you should need them.  Also wear comfortable shoes.

  • __Say your good-byes to your graduate before coming to the ceremony.  They have check-in and marching instructions to review in a very short period of time.

  • __Leave horns and noise-makers at home.  Graduation is a dignified event and noisemakers affect the ability of others to hear the next graduate’s name called.

  • __Guests are highly encouraged to be seated no later than 6:45 p.m.  The ceremony begins promptly at 7:00 and everyone should be seated when the graduates enter.

  • __No guest can be admitted without a ticket.  If a guest leaves the auditorium, they must let an attendant know before they leave and arrangements will be made to allow the guest re-entry.

  • __Turn off all cell phones and pagers as you enter the auditorium.

  • __Take as many photos and videos as you want during the ceremony from your seat.

  • __Celebrate! Take your graduate to a nice dinner.  You all deserve it!
