Student Counseling

Student Counseling Service for NFCC

What is the Student Counseling Service?

The SCS is a confidential FREE service offered to current students at North Florida Community College (current NFCC identification badge required; must be 18 or have custodial consent). We provide assessment and short-term counseling, crisis intervention and referrals (up to 5 sessions per semester).


Are the SCS services confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is essential to the success of the SCS. Your SCS records are not included in any of your college records. Your confidentiality is protected within confines of applicable state and federal laws. Any information about you cannot be released without your permission or as required by law.


Who will provide the services?

The Employee Assistance Program at TMH will provide licensed Master's level counselors on-site or at the EAP office in Tallahassee.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call 850-431-5190 or toll free at 877-501-0956 during normal business hours. Hearing impaired students may reach us by TTY at 850-431-5157. Please identify yourself as a North Florida Community College student when calling.


Where will the services be provided?

Counseling will be available on-site at NFCC Madison, Florida in a private office (Building #32 - College Advancement Offices on NW Alligator Trail) or you may elect to travel to the EAP office in Tallahassee located at 1616 Physicians Drive. On-site service hours will be from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. every other Tuesday beginning September 11, 2007. Tallahassee office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

24 hour telephone crisis counseling is available by calling 850-431-5190 or toll free at 877-501-0956 anytime during or after regular business hours.
