What is there to do at NFCC?

NFCC's Student Activities Department seeks to create an exciting environment that encourages student participation. We promote student development and leadership by providing quality programs, activities and services for our students. Diverse and multicultural events and activities are scheduled each semester to promote fun, socialization and recreation among all students attending NFCC.

September
8 & 9         Club Expo and Ice Cream Extravaganza:  Get involved at NFCC this year.  From protecting the environment to contributing to the campus newspaper, there is something for you!  Come explore the clubs and student organizations at NFCC.  While you're at it, help yourself to an ice cream sundae. 
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. @ the Student Center

13 & 14     Coffee and Careers - Business:  Think you want a career in business, but not exactly sure?  Drop in for coffee and a chance to chat with business professionals about their journeys through the world of business including accounting, business management, financial planning, and marketing to name a few.
10:00 a.m. - Noon @ the Student Center

 23      Health Fair:  Prepare for the upcoming cold and flu season with tips and resources to keep you healthy this winter.  Co-sponsored by the NFCC RN program.
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. @ the Student Center

28 & 29  Leadership Series - What's Your Personality Point?:  Discovering your unique personality type can unlock the secrets to your greatest strengths and weaknesses, help you communicate better with others, and make you a better leader.  Using a directional compass as our reference, we will explore each point or personality on the compass in this interactive workshop.

October
6 & 7          Coffee and Careers -  Careers that Make a Difference:  Have you always wondered how you can earn a living while making a difference?  There are hundreds of careers in government and non-profit agencies that will allow you to give back every day.  Stop by for of a cup of Joe and a conversation with professionals in the non-profit sector.

18 -23       Make-a-Difference Week and National Make-a-Difference Day:  National Make-a-Difference-Day is a day devoted to neighbors helping neighbors.  In 2009, more than 3 million people across the country volunteered on this day.  Join NFCC's Make-a-Difference team for an experience you will never forget.  A week of activities on campus will culminate in a campus and community project on Saturday.

November
2  & 3         Ping Pong Tournament:  Calling all ping-pong players!   We are looking for the best ping-pong player on campus.  Show off your game for a chance to win a grand prize and campus bragging rights.

9 & 10       Leadership Series - Subject TBD 

17 & 18     Coffee and Careers - Law and Criminal Justice:  If you think you've got what it takes to play a role in a real-life Law and Order or CSI, this is the gathering for you.  Join us for a little java and an informal discussion with professionals who work in the criminal justice system every day.  Bring your questions for an investigation into careers in law and public safety.      

December
TBD             Tour of Trees:  Let your holiday spirit shine!  All campus departments and organizations are invited to participate in the first annual Tour of Trees by decorating a tree for this year's showcase.  From wonderful to wacky, be creative.  The decorators of the winning tree will receive a special treat from Santa.

Kristen Finney and Jeremy WeatherspoonHang out in the Student Center and surf the internet, check your email, enjoy a game of pool, air hockey, foosball, table tennis, chess, checkers, video games, board games, or just sit back and watch TV. North Florida Community College also provides a variety of recreational activities designed to meet the needs and interests of students. Recreational facilities include lighted racquetball and tennis courts, and a well-equipped fitness and wellness center and gymnasium scheduled to be completed in 2010. The Ladell Brothers Nature Center is also available for hiking and quiet times.
