Mission:
Campus-wide, the Reading Specialist offers assistance in improving reading skills.
The Reading Specialist role is not to provide direct instruction, but enhance the learning that has already taken place in the classroom. This can be done on a one-on-one basis or with small groups of students. Expository text readings can often times be difficult to negotiate for an unskilled reader. By implementing reading strategies the student's comprehension will improve.
