The EPI program will satisfy professional preparation and professional education competencies for the Florida Professional Teaching Certificate. Through EPI Program, people with Bachelor's Degrees and teaching aspirations can receive teacher certification designed to give them the skills they need to become a highly qualified teacher in significantly less time than required for a traditional education degree.

EPI Program Requirements
- Obtain an Official Statement of Eligibility from the Florida Department of Education. Your statement must state that “you are eligible for a Florida Educator’s Certificate as shown below” in order to start the EPI program. When you receive your statement if it states “not eligible for a Florida Educator’s Certificate as shown below” then you must take and pass a subject area exam prior to beginning the EPI program. Apply for an Official Statement of Eligibility online at www.fldoe.org/edcert
- Apply for NFCC admissions to North Florida Community College. (add the link to application)
- Submit EPI application to the EPI program
In order to receive a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education the student must complete the EPI program and all other requirements listed on the Official Statement of Eligibility.
The EPI program is completed in two semesters (Fall and Spring). Classes are hybrid - meeting face to face every other Saturday with the online portion of the class on the off Saturdays.
