Whether one desires the spotlight or enjoys being part of the backstage crew, the Community Theater of North Florida Community College has opportunities for students and community members alike. At least one major production is held each year, and auditions are open to the public. Participants gain experience in acting, directing, lighting, set design and other areas of the theater.

NFCC presents “The Iliad, the Odyssey and all of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less” April 22, 23, 24
All-You-Can-Eat Seafood Buffet Dinner/Fund Raiser April 24 in Conjunction with PlayThe NFCC Sentinel Upstage Players (Community Theater) presents “The Iliad, the Odyssey and all of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less” on Thursday, April 22; Friday, April 23; and Saturday, April 24 at NFCC’s Van H. Priest Auditorium at 7 p.m. In conjunction with the play, the NFCC Foundation has planned an all-you-can-eat seafood dinner buffet fund raiser at the Wardlaw-Smith-Goza Conference Center on Saturday, April 24. Dinner is by reservation only (RSVP by April 20) and will begin at 5:30 p.m. giving those attending Saturday’s play plenty of time to make the 7 p.m. curtain time. Thirteen local actors star in the play: a hilarious hit play, written by Jay Hopkins and John Hunter, which quickly spins the tales of Greek Mythology – love stories are turned into a dating show, the Greek Tragedies are sports highlights and the results are hysterical. Directing the play is NFCC’s very own Denise Bell.“We have been very busy practicing and getting ready for opening night,” said Bell. “I invite the community to come out and support our student and community actors. The show is hilarious and will be a fun night out. And don’t miss the NFCC Foundation’s seafood buffet on Saturday before the play; it’s great food and benefits a great cause – scholarships for area students.”
Tickets are on sale now. Advance dinner theater reservations are required; reservation deadline is April 20. Tickets are $31 for dinner theater (dinner & play); $25 for dinner only; and $6 for the play only. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit student scholarships. Play ticket sales will help support the NFCC Community Theater.
