In celebration of Black History Month, North Florida Community College invites the community to a multi-media presentation entitled “The History of Black History Month” on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the NFCC Fine Arts Auditorium (Bldg. 10, NFCC campus) from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Leading the presentation is NFCC history instructor Jay Welch.
“The presentation will chart the inception of Black History week, including the factors surrounding black history in the early 20th century, to its eventual expansion into Black History month,” said Welch. “The presentation will encompass the state of black historiography from 1900 to today.”
