Distance/Online Learning - D2L

Computer StudentNFCC offers a variety of courses through the internet that allows students to complete coursework via computer at their home or office. Online courses are designed to provide interaction between the student and the instructor, as well as among fellow students. Email and online discussions keep students connected. The focus is on the student, the learner. The course may include online discussions via email and bulletin board postings, World Wide Web links to information and sources related to the course, online quizzes and exams, texts and/or workbooks to read and study, and other online activities.

Please read over the information on the NFCC Distance Learning website carefully before registering for any distance learning course.

Need help logging into D2L?

Desire2Learn is the learning management system that houses the online and supplemented face-2-face courses.  Logging into your online or supplemented course:

  • From the NFCC website () click the D2L link or type the NFCC online URL into the internet address bar: http://online.nfcc.edu
  • Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields on the D2L homepage.
    • Your  username must be obtained through the NFCC Information network.  It is the same as your GOMail address.
    • Your password is “welcome” the first time you log in.  You will have the option to change your password.  It is suggested that you make it the same as your Information Network and GOMail 6-digit pin number.  This way your Information Network, GOMail, and D2L will all have the same username and pin/password.
  • Click on the Login button to access your D2L homepage.
  • You will see the course or courses in which you are registered listed under “My Courses”.  If you are not in any courses, you can just check your email.
  • Click on the name of the course to begin or click the “my email” link on the left side of your screen to access your email.
