Florida's Post Secondary Education
Readiness Test (PERT)
The PERT at NFCC is given several times each week. Tests are given by
appointment only. To schedule an appointment, click here, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Testing Center at 850-973-9451.
Students entering degree programs, taking degree-credit courses, or any level of English, math, or reading courses are required to take a placement test before registering. ACT, SAT, CPT, and PERT are accepted. Exemptions to the placement test requirement can be found in Florida Statute1008.3. NOTE: Test scores are only valid for two years.
1008.30 Common placement testing for public postsecondary education(4)(a) A student who entered 9th grade in a Florida public school in the 2003-2004 school year, or any year thereafter, and earned a Florida standard high school diploma or a student who is serving as an active duty member of any branch of the United States Armed Services shall not be required to take the common placement test and shall not be required to enroll in developmental education instruction in a Florida College System institution. However, a student who is not required to take the common placement test and is not required to enroll in developmental education under this paragraph may opt to be assessed and to enroll in developmental education instruction, and the college shall provide such assessment and instruction upon the student’s request.

Student Information about the PERT:
All tests are given by
appointment only. Contact the Testing Center to request an appointment or for additional information.
- The testing fee for the PERT is $10 for NFCC students and $35 for students who have no intentions of attending NFCC. Fees must be paid at the Business Office (Bldg. 2) prior to testing.
- Report to the Testing Center, Building #16, on the NFCC
campus in Madison, FL, fifteen minutes prior to testing.
- A photo I.D., social security number, and test receipt
- Calculators are not permitted.
- Testing will begin promptly at the designated time.
Late arrivals may not be allowed to test.
- Test results will be available to you immediately.
- Test results will not be given out over the phone.

Please NOTE: Limited seating is available; you must
pre-register for your test. You must also meet the requirements of the PERT
testing policy for North Florida Community College in order to take the exam.
