NFCC’s QEP focuses on reading and learning communities

The project idea came as a recommendation from the 2004 QEP Team comprised of 14 faculty and staff members, including a member of the NFCC BOT and the NFCC Student Government President, following the SACS Review Team visit in November 2004.
Why the reading focus for our QEP?

“On placement tests administered to entering NFCC freshmen between July 1, 2003 and July 1, 2004, 66% of students tested into a developmental reading course.”
Why the learning communities component for our QEP?

The QEP Team determined that learning communities meet goals in both academic and non-academic areas through faculty collaboration, student interaction, course integration, and student services.
