NFCC Educational Opportunities
The Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education is designed to prepare students for the entry into careers in education and childcare. Education paraprofessionals serving as aides and assistants may complete the degree to satisfy requirements associated with the career.
The Early Education Program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the Early Childhood industry: planning, management, finance, technical and production skills; underlying principles of technology; labor, community, health, safety, and environmental issues; and developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through age eight.
Participants who successfully complete all the required courses and who have earned passing scores on required portions of the Florida Professional Education Test will be awarded a Certification of Completion. The award of this certificate will qualify the individual for Florida Professional Teacher Certification.
