NFCC's Weather Station is up & runningFor More Information Progress Energy Florida, Inc. has awarded $2500 to the NFCC Science and Math Department to develop a weather station. The station will be the only one originating from the Madison County area. The station will provide real world data such as temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure and other information for weather observation and predicting. Dr. Tony DeLia and his math and science colleagues are coordinating the project now under construction. The tower, is located on the north side of the NFCC campus in Madison.
“The new Weather Station and Remote Monitoring System project is consistent with Progress Energy’s focus on math and science programs,” said Larry Watson spokesman for Progress Energy Florida, Inc. “This type of real world data supporting complex mathematical and scientific concepts is valuable to all students and it is a testament to the high quality of education that is provided by the North Florida Community College.
