This care includes providing for the physical and emotional needs of the patient, administering medications, providing therapeutic treatments, and assisting with rehabilitation.

First semester content includes theoretical and clinical instruction in communication skills, personal, family and community health concepts; nutrition; body structure and function; interpersonal relationship skills, legal aspects of practice, fundamentals of nursing and geriatrics.
Content for the second semester and summer session includes theoretical and clinical instruction in nutrition, pharmacology, human growth and development, medical, surgical, maternal-child, mental-health concepts, and current issues in nursing.

Clinical experiences make up over 50% of the total program hours. A negative drug screen and satisfactory background check are required for entering clinical agencies as a student.

The LPN program is fully approved by the Florida Board of nursing.
Graduates of this program are eligible to make application to the National Council and the Florida State Board of Nursing for examination and licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
